DISCIPLESHIP COUNSELING
Royal Life Ministries exist to help individuals and families work through disillusionment, disappointment and wounds to the heart that penetrates deeply into our souls. Life is hard and relationships can be challenging. However, God tells us in His word to not be surprised at the fiery trials that enter our lives. God’s word also tells us that we have an enemy who wants to rob, steal and kill in our lives. Our mission is to help individuals sort through the hard questions, such as, “Where is God in the midst of my circumstances?” “Will I ever stop hurting?” “Why is this happening in my life?” It’s okay to ask hard questions and we believe that God has answers for you. Not pat answers that come from a religious formula, but answers that are meaningful and unique to your situation.
We believe that God cares very deeply about the things that are happening in your life. We also believe that he has a very specific purpose in allowing your pain. It is our goal and desire to aid the counselee in hearing God speak directly into his or her life about their individual situation.
I grew up hearing and believing that God had a plan for my life. What I didn’t understand, is that I also have an enemy who has a very specific plan for my life. He goes to great measures to insert lies into our belief systems and then places people and circumstances into our lives to confirm these lies. However, he only has control in our lives when we give him control through believing these lies. His greatest tool is deception. I love Neil Anderson’s take on spiritual warfare. He says that Satan is merely an errand boy in the hands of God.
At Royal Life Ministries, you will find a safe place of acceptance to express and process the issues of your life. This is a place where you can be yourself with no fear of judgment or condemnation. Honesty is always the best policy. It is with great joy that we work with people that sometimes don’t buy into all of the things we believe about our Heavenly Father. If a person is struggling with their beliefs and admit it, they are a step ahead of others who must keep a polished mask in place. We love to see people who can be real. God loves authenticity too. As we listen and share, we entrust our counselee’s into God’s hands and HE works each person through their issues in HIS timing. Healing takes time and life is a journey. We would be honored to walk with you on your journey and aid you in discovering what God wants to reveal to you in the midst of your circumstances. HE is a redeemer and a healer who loves to set us free.

The services that you will be receiving will be biblical discipleship counseling. We base our counseling techniques on the scriptural truths pertaining to the “Exchanged Life” described in Galatians 2:20. From this standpoint, we acknowledge our total dependence on Jesus Christ and view Him as the counselor. Rebekah’s training consists of personal counseling, conferences, workshops and an internship with Grace Ministries, International in Marietta, GA in 1991. Rebekah was on staff at GMI (www.gmint.org) as a discipleship counselor from 1992-1999 and again in 2006 through June of 2007. Tim and Rebekah have now birthed Royal Life Ministries, Inc. in their home town of Newnan. Tim successfully completed his training with GMI in 1999 and has a heart for hurting couples and families. Tim and Rebekah were ordained in April of 2005.
It is our desire to aid the counselee in discovering how the truth of God’s Word can set them free from bondage in their lives. This happens through examining concepts of God, looking at individual histories, (coping mechanisms) flesh patterns, discovering the benefit of brokenness, as well as, finding comfort in the midst of our suffering and discovering our true identity as a beloved child of God. Behavior modification is not our technique; however, intimacy with the Father will result in a changed life. Discovering why we struggle in certain areas can help a person experience healing and give them the ability to make better choices and have healthier relationships.
A suggested donation of $70.00 per one hour session is our rate. If this rate is above your means, we will be happy to talk with you about an appropriate amount that you feel you can afford. We ask that each person give responsibly as God provides. Please do not let financial issues keep you from seeking help. It is our desire to be available to those who are hurting, regardless of payment. However, those who sacrificially invest their time and money, no matter how small, seem to get the most out of our time together. We value and prioritize what we invest in. Discipleship counseling can last anywhere from 6 to 12 weeks, depending upon your needs.
Our first session will be considered an assessment. After this session we will discuss the possibility of further sessions. We are sensitive to the timing of God and want to make sure we are a good fit to address your issues. We will be happy to share with you a list of referrals if we feel we cannot meet your expectations and goals for counseling. At the end of our session you will have an opportunity to contribute for the services you received and given a receipt. Donations for counseling are not tax deductible due to the fact that you are receiving a service. If a cancellation of an appointment is necessary, please call at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.
